Wooden or glass water pipe: What's the difference?

There are both hookahs made of wood and of glass. But what is the real difference, and is it best to choose the wooden ones or the glass ones? We give you all the answers you need so you can make the right choice when you shop for your next hookah.

You may have already seen the many options when it comes to glass hookahs. They are super beautiful and stylish, and many of them have a truly lovely design. They are elegant and different with their beautiful design, but of course it doesn't take much for glass to break, and this can be a decisive difference between glass hookahs and wooden hookahs.

Don't risk broken hookahs

If you want to avoid a broken hookah, it can be an advantage to choose a wooden hookah, since they do not break as easily if you drop it or the like. Wooden hookahs are more durable and sturdy than those made of glass, but this is not the only reason to choose a wooden hookah.

Wooden hookahs are easier and simpler to handle

You may previously have been used to using a glass hookah. But actually a glass hookah can be considerably more troublesome to prepare. This is because hookahs made of wood often have far fewer details than glass hookahs, and therefore they are usually also easier to prepare. The fewer details your hookah has, the fewer things can go missing, and it's not exactly fun to suddenly be missing a part when you're about to light the hookah.

Choose a wooden hookah and make cleaning easier

As already mentioned, wooden hookahs generally have fewer details and parts. Therefore they are also much easier to clean than glass hookahs. Glass hookahs also often have many sharp corners and edges where dirt and other grime can easily get stuck. This does not apply to wooden hookahs.

Of course not all glass hookahs are difficult to clean, but on the whole wooden hookahs are just a bit more user-friendly. All it takes to clean a wooden hookah is simply to wipe the wooden parts with a damp cloth, and you're then ready for your next smoking experience. So, less time cleaning obviously gives more time for the smoking experience and hanging out with friends.

Easier to take with you

If you usually enjoy taking your hookah with you to different places where you and your friends can smoke and hang out, you might also benefit from a wooden hookah. It's easier to transport than a glass hookah, and you don't have to worry as much about taking care that it doesn't break. As a rule they also don't weigh as much as glass hookahs, which can be nice if you have to carry it in a bag or walk with it.
